Fat Sick and Nearly Dead: Juice On...

Hi everyone!

It's been a long time since I have blogged.  Well I thought I'd start off by wishing everyone a Happy Passover and a Wonderful Easter.

I decided to start blogging again because I'm starting a new juice fast.  I am going to try to use this blog as my daily diary so that I can hold myself accountable for my own success.

Don't know if you have ever tried a juice fast, but it is not as easy as you may think.  I am truly inspired by Joe Cross, filmmaker www.fatsickandnearlydead.com .  If you get a chance you should watch the film.  You will be amazed.

Juice for breakfast this morning:

Yields 16-20 oz juice

1/4 Pineapple
1 Granny Smith Apple
2 Kiwi Fruit
1 Orange
12 Strawberries (Hulled)
1/2 Fennel Bulb
1 Large handful of Wheatgrass

Mid-Day Snack:

2 Apples
2 Pears
1/2 Fennel Bulb

Lunch
OK, so I cheated... Last night Tina and I had Indian food for dinner, so I had some left over Saag Paneer and Chicken Korma with Basmati Rice.

Dinner

6-8 Kale leaves
1 Large Handful Spinach
1 Granny Smith Apple
1 lemon
1 piece ginger

In addition, I will try my best to drink a minimum of 8 glasses of water throughout the day.

Well that's all for now.  Wish me luck.  Juice on.

Best,
Amy

Who Would Have Thought Cincinnati Could Be So Fun?

Ok, so I have to admit that I never thought the midwest could be a fun place to travel to, but after visiting Cincinnati I have to say that it's not what I thought it would be and there were a lot of really great places to visit in such a small town.

One of the highlights of my trip would have to be my visit to Graeter's, one of the jewels of Ohio. Since its founding in 1870 by Louis C. Graeter, Graeter's French Pot Ice Cream, handmade chocolate confections and fresh baked goods have become traditions in the Queen City. If you ever get to Ohio, you must visit this place.  The ice cream and buckeyes are pretty amazing!

It's possibly better than Vermont's cream of the crop, Ben & Jerry's ice cream.

My Nightmarish Living Situation Comes to an End

Ok, so for those of you that don't already know, over the last two years I have lived in a beautiful condo complex in Norwalk, Connecticut. For the first four months living here had been bliss, but then the neighbor in the unit next door had his fiancee move in. Since she moved in I've been harassed repeatedly and living here has turned into a nightmare.

So I finally have some good news to report! Christina and I are moving out! After almost two years of consistent harassment we've decided to call it quits. These people are absolutely nuts, but the board of directors did nothing for us, our landlord couldn't do anything, and the police basically told us to call them when these people physically harm us. So, basically we have to wait to be stabbed, or shot before we can get any relief from the police. Well we found a beautiful place to call home, so we are packing our bags and heading for the hills.

I can see the advertisement now... Looking to rent a beautiful spacious townhouse style condo with front terrace, rear deck for barbecuing, where neighbors come out and call you and your guests all kind of names for absolutely no reason, two bedrooms, two full baths & one half bath, dining room, large living room, garage, mud room, basement, and loads of closet space? Ideal renter must have lots of muscles and be willing to beat the crap out of insane neighbors. Well it's wishful thinking on my part. I guess karma comes around. Though we might not ever see it, I do believe that in my heart there has to be a reason why these people are so miserable and perhaps one day they will get theirs!

Wish us the best!

I'm Learning how to mobile blog

What I wouldn't do for some R&R right now!

Boy do I need a vacation! I wish I could get away, maybe go on a cruise or jet off to some Caribbean island. I can't wait until winter is over. This has been the longest winter I can remember in a long time.

I am so glad that daylight savings time is next week! It will be nice to have some longer days ahead. I dream of being on the beach, walking into the water and feeling the sunshine down on my back while my toes touch the sand and cool water.
